Artist Talk At Emily Carr University

Yesterday I gave an artist Talk at the Emily Carr University in Vancouver for the advanced ceramic students. I talked about my inspirations, my designs and my experience at Medalta Artist-in-residence. It was a great experience for me and I hope for the students aswell!
Aniek Meeldijk graduated at the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA) Rotterdam in 2009 with her ‘shadow’ tea set ‘Tea time’, a beautiful example of Dutch Design. For this design she received an award of the city of Rotterdam. Shortly after graduating she went to Jingdezhen in China with the WdKA, the porcelain city of China. In June 2011 she graduated at the Master Visual Arts (Ceramics and Glass Art Department) in Ghent, Belgium.
Aniek’s work is intuitive and begins with a close observation of the world around her.

Yesss our holiday has just started a week a go. We have seen already so many beautiful places in the national parks in Canada. We're heading to Vancouver now.
The 10th of October I am expected to be at the Anderson Ranch in Snowmassvillage(US). I will participate a ten week artist in residency to create new work again! I already looking forward to it but first I need a holiday! So it will be quiet here for a while.
